Teaching
Shelley Harrison began his teaching career working as a teacher’s aide to the resource specialist in the Jackson Hearing Center at Fairmeadow Elementary School (Palo Alto Unified School District). He has served as a test preparation instructor for TestMasters (LSAT, GRE) and Princeton Review (LSAT) and as a guest lecturer for the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Harrison teaches law, logic, writing, and reading comprehension at LEX Law Prep, provider of the law school and bar exam tutoring.
Inventing
Harrison’s work as an inventor has resulted in patents that have been sold or licensed to companies such as Microsoft, eBay, PayPal, Acacia, and BuySafe. These technologies include work in fields such as financial services, electronic commerce, internet auctions, markup languages, security, wearable computing, time display, automatic data capture, social media, search engines, and video game controllers.
Writing and Editing
Harrison writes and edits for The Humane Herald and the Humane Party. He is author of Plutonomics: A Unified Theory of Wealth and veganizing editor/author of A Vegan Christmas Carol.
Background
Harrison is a graduate of Memphis University School, Stanford University, and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Virginia Law Review.
Community
Shelley Harrison volunteers for the Humane Party, the National Cat Protection Society, and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program of Newport Beach, California. He completed California’s basic Animal Law Enforcement Academy at the San Diego Humane Society.
