Humane Party

Humane Party:  Some Organizational Documents

Establishing a new political party is no easy task.  While tens of thousands of new for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations are successfully started each year, not one political party has been successfully started in the U.S. in the last 150 years: the last successful startup of a U.S. political party was that of the Republican Party in the 1850s.

But the Humane Party‘s challenge is even more daunting than “merely” that of starting a political party.  To the best of the author’s knowledge, no human culture in history has ever freed other animals and granted them legal personhood.  The HP platform, therefore, includes commitments to achieve goals that have never been reached by even the most enlightened civilizations of ancient or modern times, and volunteers should be prepared accordingly.
